The way you fail is to become complacent if you realize your short comings and continue to improve on them in my book is not failing it is learning. But if you state you are a professional knife maker and you are satisfied with subpar workmanship, and do not improve. Then you are a failed knife maker, keep working at it you will get it.

youtube; I found your work and approach to knife making inspiring, I am currently making a start on my 1st project, a machete, basic tools, basic knowledge, hopefully if it turns out half reasonable I will have found a new interest so far I have enjoyed the process although the need to run before I can walk needs to be put in check.
